Scrappy Wednesday: Paper Piecing Over Stamping

This online card class has been so interesting! I learned this paper-piecing technique and I adore it! My favorite part of it is actually the stamping over the patterned paper so when it's pieced together it has lines that create depth and perception.

Stamping the Sweetbriar Rose image on the card front also added to the depth of this card. Once it was all put together I colored the leaves in the Old Olive Assortment of Blendabilities which made some great shadows inside of the leaves. I used Night of Navy, Island Indigo, and Tempting Turquoise Classic Stampin' Ink and an Aqua Painter to water color the background. Then I used some Basic Grey Classic Stampin' Ink and the Aqua Painter to add some shadow to the underneath and sides of the leaves.

Some Dazzling Details and Pearl Basic Jewels really make the flowers glisten in elegance. A couple final details to the card front is a layer of Basic Black Cardstock, some Linen Thread wraped around a few times and tied in a bow as well as a "thank you" sentiment embossed in Black Stampin' Emboss Powder.

For the inside of the card I used the same Whisper White Cardstock layered on Basic Black Cardstock. For the stamp, I used Wisteria Wonder Classic Stampin' Ink and stamped off once then stamped on so it stamped lighter than the full strength. I then filled in the flowers with the Dazzling Details. I adore how this turned out! To see the complete tutorial including measurements please enjoy the video below. Thanks so much for stopping by!
